Your account settings are where you can alter your profile, notifications, security preferences, and password to enhance your Red Canary experience.
Adjusting your account settings
You can adjust a number of settings that affect your Red Canary experience. After changing each of these, you will need to enter your password under Verify current password (if single sign-on is not enabled) and click Save changes.
Editing your profile
You can set your name and phone number, which will be used for multi-factor SMS messages and other communications.
To edit your profile information:
- Click your profile > Account in the site navigation.
- Enter your Name, Email, and Phone.
- Enter your password under Verify current password (if present) and click Save changes.
Choosing how you would like to be notified
You can customize your subscriptions to status checks, detections, and detection summaries.
To change your notifications:
- Click your profile > Account in the site navigation.
- Under the Notification Preferences section, adjust the settings to meet your needs.
- Enter your password under Verify current password (if present) and click Save changes.
Deprecation warning: email and SMS notifications for detections are deprecated and should be migrated to automation playbooks.
Adjusting your security settings
You can adjust a number of security settings, such as:
- Recording your GPG Public Key in case Red Canary needs to exchange encrypted information with you.
- Viewing and resetting your API Authentication Token, which is used for all API calls to Red Canary.
- Adjusting your Session Timeout, which is the number of minutes your session will remain active before it expires and you are required to log in.
- Enabling or disabling multi-factor authentication.
To alter your Security Settings:
- Click your profile > Account in the site navigation.
- Under the Security Settings section, adjust the settings to meet your needs.
- Enter your password under Verify current password (if present) and click Save changes.
Changing your password
You can change your password if password logins are enabled for your account (this is not available if single sign-on is enabled).
To change your password:
- Click your profile > Account in the site navigation.
- Go to Change your password at the bottom of the page.
- Under the Security Settings section, confirm your Current password.
- Set your New password and verify it under Password confirmation.
- Click Change password.
